Sporting clays is a new, exciting target game. It is challenging, fun, and competitive. The lure of the game lies in its realism. The targets simulate actual field hunting on specially designed courses that imitate real field conditions. Sporting clays offers a variety of target presentations that replicate the movement of game with precision and accuracy. Shooters move from station to station, with each station presenting different targets. Unlike skeet shooting, sporting clays uses a variety of clay targets which are combined with different speeds and angles creating challenging targets for shooters of all skill levels. Targets are incoming, outgoing, crossing, climbing, quartering away, streaking overhead, or any combination of the above.

“Doc’s 5-stands and sporting clays course at Rising Spirits Shooting School—just minutes from downtown Bozeman—are an excellent sporting clays experience and the land is just plain gorgeous. I would eagerly endorse Doc Bradford as a teacher and his facilities for clay shooting to every clays enthusiast, from beginner to expert.”
